LANSING, Mich. — State Sen. Jim Marleau announced on Wednesday that $2.7 million in grant money from the Michigan Strategic Fund (MSF) has been awarded to Brose North America Group, a manufacturing company headquartered in Auburn Hills.
In 2014, Brose was awarded a $4.25 million Michigan Business Development Program (MBDP) performance-based grant for its investment of $97.6 million and creation of 475 jobs at its New Boston facility.
Because the company will be investing an additional $105 million and creating an additional 300 jobs, MSF has increased the grant to $6.95 million.
“Brose North America Group is thriving, and that benefits all of us,” said Marleau, R-Lake Orion. “This additional grant money is a sound investment that will reap benefits in the community. It is money well spent.”
Brose North America Group is a leading manufacturer of mechatronic components for vehicle bodies and interiors. Michigan was chosen for this business over competing sites in the U.S. and Mexico.
